Method

Espresso Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Start by heating your espresso machine. Place the espresso coffee grounds into the portafilter, tamp them down firmly. Attach the portafilter to the machine and start the brewing process. Pour 240 ml of water through the grounds to extract the espresso.

Steaming the Milk

  1. 2

    Steam the Whole Milk

Pour 200 ml of whole milk into a steaming pitcher. Insert the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface. Turn on the steam and move the pitcher in a circular motion to heat the milk evenly until it reaches about 65-70°C (149-158°F).

Creating Foam

  1. 3

    Froth the Milk

After steaming, create foam by moving the steam wand to the surface of the milk. This introduces air into the milk, creating a velvety foam. Continue frothing until you achieve a creamy texture.

Assembling the Latte

  1. 4

    Combine and Serve

In a large cup, pour the freshly brewed espresso. Slowly add the steamed milk, holding back the foam with a spoon. Finally, spoon the frothy milk on top of the latte. Enjoy your homemade latte!
