Method

Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the hard cider, milk, granulated sugar, eggs, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the cubed bread. Gently fold the bread until it is fully soaked in the mixture. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.

  5. 5

    Bake

Transfer the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Caramel Sauce

  1. 6

    Make the Caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add granulated sugar and cook until it melts and turns a golden brown color, stirring constantly.

  2. 7

    Add Butter and Cream

Once the sugar is melted, add the butter and stir until melted. Carefully pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Add a pinch of salt and stir until smooth.

  3. 8

    Cool the Sauce

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Dish

Scoop the warm bread pudding into serving bowls. Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
