Fried Artichoke Hearts
Method
Fried Artichoke Hearts
- 1
Prepare the Artichoke Hearts
Drain the artichoke hearts from the can or jar and gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Set aside.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Artichoke Hearts
Take each artichoke heart and dip it first into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Next, dip it into the egg and milk mixture, and finally, coat it in the cornmeal mixture. Repeat this process for all artichoke hearts.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Artichoke Hearts
Carefully add the breaded artichoke hearts to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Serve
Arrange the fried artichoke hearts on a serving platter. Serve with cherry peppers, ranch dressing, and remoulade sauce on the side for dipping.
