Seafood Mac & Cheese Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden, stirring constantly.

  3. 3

    Add Milk and Cream

Gradually whisk in the whole milk and heavy cream, ensuring no lumps form. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Cheese

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cheddar and gruyere cheese until melted and smooth. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to taste.

  5. 5

    Combine Seafood and Pasta

Fold in the cooked shrimp, crab meat, and drained macaroni into the cheese sauce until well combined.

  6. 6

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish.

  7. 7

    Add Topping

Sprinkle the panko breadcrumbs evenly on top of the mac and cheese.

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

  9. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
