Cold Brew Concentrate

Method

Cold Brew Concentrate

  1. 1

Measure 3 oz of ROCC cold brew concentrate and chill until cold. If using refrigerated concentrate, allow it to come to near serving temperature; do not dilute further — this will be combined with spirits.

Cocktail Assembly

  1. 2

    Combine and stir

Add 2 oz Four Roses bourbon, 3 oz chilled ROCC cold brew concentrate, 0.25 oz maple syrup, 2 dashes walnut bitters, and 2 dashes orange bitters into a mixing glass or shaker without ice. Stir briefly to begin combining the syrup with the liquids (about 8–10 seconds).

  2. 3

    Chill and dilute

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir briskly for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted (target roughly 15–20% dilution).

  3. 4

    Prepare glass

Place one large ice cube or sphere into an Old Fashioned glass.

  4. 5

    Strain

Strain the chilled cocktail over the large ice cube in the Old Fashioned glass, using a Hawthorne or julep strainer to remove small ice shards.

  5. 6

    Garnish and express

Take an orange peel, gently express the oils over the surface of the drink by holding it skin-side down and giving it a quick twist, then rub the rind on the glass rim and drop it into the drink as garnish.

  6. 7

Serve immediately. Note: If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, increase maple syrup to 0.5 oz. If you prefer more coffee intensity, reduce bourbon to 1.5 oz and keep cold brew at 3 oz.
