Cocktail

Combine ingredients
Add 2 oz gin, 0.75 oz Green Chartreuse (Boomsma if you have it), 0.75 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur and 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice into a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is very cold and the exterior is frosted. This both chills and dilutes to balance the bright herbal and sweet flavors.
- 4
Double strain
Discard the ice water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe/Nick & Nora through a fine mesh strainer to catch small ice shards and any pulp for a clean, silky presentation.
Garnish & serve
- 5
Express the oils of a lime twist over the surface by holding the twist skin-side down above the cocktail and giving it a quick pinch, then rub the rim with the twist and drop it into the drink (or float a thin lime wheel). Optionally slap a small sprig of mint or basil between your palms to release aromatics and rest it on the surface as an herbaceous accent.

Serve immediately. The Last Word is best enjoyed chilled and freshly made; its vibrant green, herbaceous profile will be most pronounced right away.
