Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, then season it generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary on both sides. Allow it to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steak in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  2. 5

    Cook the Garlic

In the last 5 minutes of boiling the potatoes, add the peeled garlic cloves to the pot to soften them.

  3. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 7

    Serve

Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes onto a plate and place the rested ribeye steak beside it. Enjoy!
