Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine almond flour, black sesame seeds, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.

  3. 3

    Prepare Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add melted unsalted butter and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until fully combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Fig and Strawberry Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Fruit

Rinse the fresh figs and strawberries. Cut the figs into quarters and the strawberries into slices.

  2. 8

    Mix Topping Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the prepared figs, strawberries, honey, and lemon juice. Stir gently to coat the fruit.

Yogurt Ice Cream Preparation

  1. 9

    Mix Yogurt Base

In a large bowl, mix the plain yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  2. 10

    Chill the Mixture

Pour the yogurt mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  3. 11

    Freeze the Ice Cream

Transfer the churned yogurt ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 3-4 hours until firm.
