Preparing the Fries

Cook the Fries
Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Spread the fries on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 25-30 minutes.
Making the Chili

Cook the Chili
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the vegetable oil and sauté the diced onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the diced tomatoes and kidney beans, stir well, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Assemble the Chili Cheese Fries
Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter. Top the fries with the chili, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Add green onions, sour cream, bacon bits, and jalapenos to your liking.
