1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

2. Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.

3. Mix Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolk, and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

4. Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

5. Add Flour

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

6. Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

7. Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

8. Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges and invert onto plates. Serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
