Method
Preparing the Tater Tots
- 1
Preheat the Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, pour in the vegetable oil and heat it to 180°C (350°F). Use a thermometer to ensure the oil reaches the correct temperature for frying.
- 2
Fry the Tater Tots
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the frozen tater tots in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 3-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 3
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried tater tots from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Season them immediately with salt and black pepper to taste.
