Method

Shiso Simple Syrup

  1. 1

    Prepare Shiso Simple Syrup

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 2

Once the sugar has dissolved, add 10 fresh shiso leaves to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the shiso flavor.

  3. 3

Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool. Strain out the shiso leaves and transfer the syrup to a clean bottle. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Cocktail

In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of Spring 44 Vodka, 1 oz of Genepy De Alps, 1 oz of Pom Juice, 0.5 oz of Yuzu Juice, 0.5 oz of Lime Juice, and 0.5 oz of the prepared Shiso Simple Syrup.

  2. 5

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 6

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

  4. 7

    Garnish

Garnish with a fresh shiso leaf placed delicately on top of the drink for an aromatic finish.
