Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Gather and Measure Ingredients

Collect all ingredients: Jovan Mezcal, Caraway Infused Sweet Vermouth, Velvet Falernum, and Orange Bitters. Measure out the amounts specified in the ingredients list.

  2. 2

    Chill the Glass

Prepare a chilled coupe or cocktail glass by filling it with ice water. Let it sit while you prepare the cocktail.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of Jovan Mezcal, 1 oz of Caraway Infused Sweet Vermouth, and 0.5 oz of Velvet Falernum.

  2. 4

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Orange Bitters to the mixing glass.

  3. 5

    Stir the Mixture

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted.

Serving

  1. 6

    Strain and Serve

Empty the ice water from the chilled glass. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixed cocktail into the glass.

  2. 7

    Add Smoke (Optional)

If desired, use a smoking gun or a piece of smoldering wood to infuse the cocktail with smoke. Cover the glass briefly to capture the smoke, then remove the cover.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Enjoy

Garnish with a twist of orange peel if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the confident flavors of your Meztinez.
