Brownie/Blondie Base

Frosting/Top Layer

Method

Preparation of Base

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in optional chocolate chips if using.

  5. 5

    Bake the Base

Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Preparation of Frosting or Top Layer

  1. 6

    Make Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together powdered sugar, coconut cream, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  2. 7

    Frost the Base

Once the brownie/blondie base has cooled, spread the frosting evenly on top.

  3. 8

Add Jam or Nut Butter (if applicable)

For a jam bar, swirl jam into the top layer. For cookie sandwiches, spread nut butter on one side and sandwich with another base piece.
