1. Prepare the Tofu
Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into slices about 1/2 inch thick.
2. Season the Tofu
In a bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Marinate the sliced tofu in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
3. Prepare the Grill
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and prepare a steaming rack or a grill-safe pan with holes.
4. Grill the Tofu
Place the marinated tofu slices on the steaming rack or grill pan. Cover with a lid and steam for about 6-8 minutes on each side until heated through and slightly firm.
5. Serve
Remove the tofu from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy plain or with a dipping sauce of your choice.
