Making the Cookie Base

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.

Mix Cookie Ingredients
In a bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Add the egg and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spread the cookie base evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.

In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.

In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
