Brownie Ingredients

Method

Brownie Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

    Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Lift out using the parchment paper, allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
