Glass & Garnish

Method

Glass & Garnish

  1. 1

    Chill and prepare glass

Place the Perrier bottle in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours before serving so it is well chilled. If you prefer ice, place 4 fresh ice cubes into a tall chilled highball or Collins glass. Note: Perrier is best served very cold and with minimal agitation to preserve carbonation.

  2. 2

    Add garnishes

Lightly slap the mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place it gently into the glass (optional). Cut a lime or lemon wedge and run it around the rim if you want a subtle citrus note; you can then drop the wedge into the glass or leave it on the rim.

  3. 3

    Pour Perrier

Open the chilled Perrier bottle carefully to avoid excessive fizz. Tilt the glass at roughly a 45° angle and pour the Perrier slowly down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and minimize foam. Fill the glass, leaving a small headspace (about 1–2 cm) so it doesn’t overflow.

  4. 4

    Finish and serve

Give the glass a gentle swirl if needed to incorporate the garnish aromas. Serve immediately with a short spoon or stirrer so the drinker can adjust temperature or add the lime wedge juice as desired.
