Method
Preparing the Patty
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about 3/4 inch thick.
- 3
Preheat Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat for about 10 minutes before cooking the patties.
- 4
Grill Patties
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Preparing Toppings and Assembly
- 5
Prepare Toppings
While the patties are grilling, wash and dry the lettuce. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings.
- 6
Toast Buns
Optionally, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 7
Assemble Burger
Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the grilled patty on top, followed by lettuce, tomato, onion, and the top bun.
