Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Glass
Choose a lowball or rocks glass and set it aside.
- 2
Dissolve the Sugar
In the bottom of the glass, add 1 teaspoon of demerara sugar. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top of the sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently mix them together, ensuring the sugar begins to dissolve.
- 3
Add the Bourbon
Pour 2 ounces of Four Roses Bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.
- 4
Prepare the Ice
Add 3 ice cubes to the glass, allowing them to chill the drink.
- 5
Garnish with Orange Peel
Using a vegetable peeler or knife, carefully slice off a piece of orange peel. Squeeze the peel over the drink to release the oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
