Aromatics & Finish

Method

Soda Base

1

Chill

Make sure the diet lemon-lime soda and the seltzer/club soda are well chilled before assembling. Cold liquids preserve carbonation and give a crisper finish.

2

Pour 2 cups of diet lemon-lime soda into a large glass or small pitcher. Gently add 1/2 cup chilled seltzer or club soda to add a touch of sparkle and to slightly dilute intense sweetness without adding calories.

Citrus & Sweetness

3

Add 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice and 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice to the soda mixture. These brighten the beverage and round out the citrus profile.

4

Taste the mixture. If you prefer a slightly sweeter profile (some diet sodas have a pronounced aftertaste), add liquid sucralose or another liquid zero-calorie sweetener a few drops at a time (up to 4 teaspoons listed) and stir gently. Stop when the sweetness suits your preference.

Aromatics & Finish

5

Bruise the fresh mint leaves lightly between your fingers or clap them once to release oils, then add the leaves to the glass or pitcher. Gently stir once or twice—avoid over-stirring to preserve carbonation.

6

Fill a serving glass with about 1 cup of cubed ice (adjust to preference). Pour the prepared Diet Mt. Dew mixture over the ice.

7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately while fizzy.
