Stuffed Green Chiles

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chiles

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Carefully slice the green chiles open lengthwise and remove the seeds. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Chiles

Spoon the cheese mixture into each green chile, filling them generously.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Pecan Crust

In a separate bowl, mix the crushed pecans with melted butter until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Coat the Chiles

Place the stuffed chiles on a baking sheet. Top each chile with the pecan mixture, pressing down lightly to adhere.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the chiles are tender and the pecan crust is golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm as delicious appetizers.
