Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips or wedges, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potatoes in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries hot as a side dish to accompany your meal.
