Method

Prepare Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 240 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Soak Ladyfingers

  1. 2

    Soak Ladyfingers

In a shallow dish, mix the cooled espresso with the coffee liqueur (if using). Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture for about 1-2 seconds on each side, then arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Combine Mascarpone

Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth and well combined.

  4. 6

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Layer Tiramisu

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve

  1. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 9

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.

  3. 10

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious homemade tiramisu!
