Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions, shaping each into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

3

Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

5

Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and optionally toast them on the grill or in the skillet for a minute until golden.

6

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf. Then, add the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by slices of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
