Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Adding Chocolate

  1. 6

    Fold in Chocolate Chunks

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  1. 7

    Scoop and Bake

Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  2. 8

    Sprinkle with Maldon Salt

Before baking, sprinkle a pinch of Maldon salt on top of each cookie dough ball.

  3. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.

Cooling

  1. 10

    Cool the Cookies

Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
