Melt Chocolate
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 2
Prepare Egg Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together the large eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until pale and fluffy.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and gently fold together until fully combined. Add a pinch of salt and mix gently.

Chill Mousse
Transfer the mousse mixture into serving cups or bowls. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
Whipped Cream Preparation

Make Whipped Cream
In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.

Serve
Once the mousse is set, remove it from the refrigerator. Top each mousse with a generous dollop of whipped cream before serving.
