Green Chile Beef & Toppings

Method

Fries

  1. 1

    Prep Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  2. 2

    Bake Fries

Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and lightly browned.

  3. 3

    Season Fries

As soon as the fries come out of the oven, season them with salt.

Green Chile Beef & Toppings

  1. 4

    Sauté aromatics

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent and fragrant.

  2. 5

    Brown beef

Add ground beef; cook, breaking it up, until browned and no pink remains.

  3. 6

    Season beef

Stir in green chiles, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes to bloom spices.

  4. 7

    Drain fat if needed

If the pan is very fatty, drain excess fat and return beef to the pan.

  5. 8

    Melt cheese

Sprinkle shredded cheese over the beef and let melt for 1–2 minutes.

  6. 9

    Cream and finish

Stir crema into the beef mixture or reserve for topping.

  7. 10

    Assemble & serve

Layer the cooked fries on a platter, top with the beef mixture, drizzle with crema, and garnish with extra crema or cilantro if desired.
