Season filling
Add shredded chicken to the pan along with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir to coat the chicken evenly.

Moisten and finish filling
Pour in 1/2 cup chicken broth and simmer 3-5 minutes until the mixture is moist but not soupy. Stir in shredded cheese until melted, then fold in chopped cilantro. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble flautas
Place about 2-3 tablespoons of filling near the edge of each tortilla and roll tightly into a cigar shape. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

Fry
In a wide skillet, heat 1/2 cup vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Fry the rolled tortillas 2-3 minutes per side, until deep golden and crisp. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
Garnish and serving

Arrange fried flautas on plates. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and onions. Sprinkle extra shredded cheese over the top. Serve with salsa or guacamole on the side.
