Method
Charcuterie
- 1
Prepare cured meats
Fold or roll the prosciutto slices into loose rosettes or gentle folds (about 6–8 pieces). Fan or slightly overlap the salami/soppressata slices into a small pile or semi-circle. Keep portions bite-size for easy picking.
Cheeses
- 2
Prep cheeses
Remove the brie from the refrigerator 15–20 minutes before serving to come to room temperature. Place the whole brie on the board and, if desired, slice a shallow crosshatch on top or leave intact with a cheese knife beside it. Pre-slice the manchego into thin wedges and cube or slice the cheddar into bite-size pieces. Arrange cheeses in separate zones on the platter with small gaps for crackers and condiments.
Breads & Crackers

Pickles & Condiments
- 4
Place the mixed olives in a small bowl and set on the platter to contain brine. Spoon the chutney into a small ramekin and sit it near the brie or cheddar. Add the whole-grain mustard in a tiny dish next to the meats. Position condiments so they are reachable from multiple sides of the board to avoid crowding.
Nuts & Extras
- 5
Scatter the Marcona almonds and dried apricots in small clusters around the board to fill gaps and add texture. Place the bunch of grapes with stems intact in one area for visual impact. Fan the fresh apple or pear slices and brush lightly with lemon juice (optional) to prevent browning; place near the softer cheeses so guests can combine flavors.
Assembly & Finishing
- 6
Use a wooden board or shallow platter roughly 12–14 inches across. Start by placing larger items (brie whole, ramekins with chutney and olives) first, then add cheeses, meats, bread, and crackers radiating outward. Fill gaps with nuts, dried fruit, and fresh fruit. Tuck rosemary or thyme sprigs in a few spots for aroma and visual contrast. Drizzle the honey lightly over the cheddar or serve honey in a small spoonable dish if using. Ensure cheese knives and small spoons are available for each condiment.
