Bread Pudding
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread Pudding
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the stale bread, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Add Bananas and Pecans
Slice the ripe bananas and fold them into the bread mixture along with the chopped pecans. Ensure they are evenly distributed.
- 3
Bake the Pudding
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
- 4
Make the Rum Brown Sugar Sauce
While the pudding is baking, melt 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 1/4 cup of rum and cook until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
- 5
Serve
Once the bread pudding is baked, let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle the rum brown sugar sauce over the top and add a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
