Mascarpone Filling

Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow bowl, combine the brewed espresso with coffee liqueur. Set aside.

Make the Mascarpone Filling

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Fold in Mascarpone

Add 16 oz of mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and gently fold until well combined.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill and Serve

  1. 10

    Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 11

    Add Toppings

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
