Steak and Vegetables Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peppers

Slice the red and yellow bell peppers into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Cook the Peppers

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced peppers, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and increase the heat to high. Add the shaved sirloin and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove from heat.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Peabody Sauce

In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, hot sauce, and garlic powder until well combined. Set aside.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the sub sandwich rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired. Spread a generous layer of Peabody sauce on the bottom half of each roll. Layer the cooked steak, sautéed peppers, slices of American cheese, and crispy fried onions on top. Place the top half of the roll on each sandwich.

  2. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half if desired and serve immediately, enjoying the combination of flavors!
