Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash the Spinach

Thoroughly rinse the fresh spinach under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Other Ingredients

Mince the garlic cloves and slice the onion. Set both aside for cooking.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions

Add the sliced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent and fragrant.

  3. 5

    Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  4. 6

    Add Spinach

Gradually add the washed spinach to the skillet. It may seem like too much at first, but it will wilt down significantly.

  5. 7

    Season the Spinach

Sprinkle in the salt and black pepper while stirring the spinach. Continue to sauté for about 3-5 minutes until the spinach is wilted and tender.

  6. 8

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir to combine and adjust seasoning to taste.
