Homemade Sauce
Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil.

Add Salt
Once the water is boiling, add 1 teaspoon of salt to the pot.

Cook the Pasta
Add 200g of pasta to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Add Canned Tomatoes
Add 400g of canned tomatoes to the skillet, breaking them up with a spoon.

Season the Sauce
Stir in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Add Fresh Basil
Tear 10 fresh basil leaves and stir them into the sauce just before serving.

Finish with Parmesan
Grate 50g of Parmesan cheese and sprinkle over the sauce before serving.
