Preparing the Patties

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Prepare Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Prepare the pickles by slicing them if they are whole.
Assembling the Burger

Toast the Buns
If desired, toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty. Top with tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles. Finally, place the top half of the bun on each burger.
