Method

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Take two slices of white bread and lay them flat on a clean surface.

  2. 2

    Add Cheese

Place one slice of white American cheese on top of each slice of bread.

  3. 3

    Combine the Slices

Put the two slices together, with the cheese facing inward.

  4. 4

    Butter the Outside

Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outside of one side of the sandwich.

  5. 5

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

  6. 6

    Grill the Sandwich

Once the skillet is hot, place the sandwich in the pan, buttered side down. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Butter the Other Side

While the first side is grilling, butter the top side of the sandwich.

  8. 8

    Flip and Grill Again

Carefully flip the sandwich over and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until that side is also golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  9. 9

    Remove and Slice

Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the pan and let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half.

Fruit Side

  1. 10

    Prepare the Apple

Wash the apple thoroughly and slice it into wedges.

  2. 11

    Prepare the Grapes

Wash the grapes under running water and remove any stems.

  3. 12

    Serve

Arrange the apple wedges and grapes on a plate alongside the grilled cheese sandwich.
