Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Mascarpone Pot de Crème
In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Spoon the mixture into small serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- 2
Macerate the Strawberries
Slice fresh strawberries and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and toss gently. Let sit for about 30 minutes to allow the strawberries to release their juices.
- 3
Make the Sweet and Flaky Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a serving dish, place a biscuit, top it with a generous spoonful of macerated strawberries, and finish with a dollop of the mascarpone pot de crème. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
