Macaroon Ingredients

Method

Macaroon Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened shredded coconut and granulated sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until frothy but not stiff. Add the vanilla and almond extracts to the egg whites.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the egg white mixture into the coconut mixture. Stir until all the coconut is well-coated and the mixture is combined.

  4. 4

    Shape Macaroons

Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the macaroons are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
