Method
Preparing the Chicken Wings
- 1
Marinate the Wings
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings and buttermilk. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Coat the Wings
Remove the wings from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each wing in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wings
Fry the wings in batches for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate.
Making the Honey Garlic Sauce
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Heat over medium heat until simmering.
- 7
Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add this to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
