Fried Crab Claws

Method

Fried Crab Claws

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients needed for the fried crab claws. Ensure the crab claws are cleaned and thawed if previously frozen.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Coat the Crab Claws

Dip each crab claw into the egg mixture, then roll it in the flour mixture until well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Crab Claws

Carefully add the coated crab claws to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried crab claws hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the claws.
