Bone-in Pork Chop Schnitzel
Method
Bone-in Pork Chop Schnitzel
- 1
Prepare the Pork Chops
Start by patting the bone-in pork chops dry with paper towels. This helps the breading stick better. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the all-purpose flour in the first dish, beat the eggs in the second dish, and place the bread crumbs in the third dish. This is your breading station.
- 3
Bread the Pork Chops
Take one seasoned pork chop and dredge it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it in the bread crumbs, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs adhere well. Repeat for all pork chops.
- 4
Fry the Pork Chops
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded pork chops, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- 5
Drain and Rest
Once cooked, transfer the pork chops to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
