Sparkling Water (single serving)

Glassware & garnishes (optional)

Method

Sparkling Water (single serving)

  1. 1

    Chill and prepare

Ensure the bottled sparkling water is well chilled before serving. Cold sparkling water retains carbonation and tastes best. If desired, chill the glass in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice briefly then discard the ice to cool it.

  2. 2

    Add ice (optional)

Place 2–4 ice cubes into your serving glass if you prefer your drink extra cold. Note: ice will dilute the water slightly as it melts.

  3. 3

    Open bottle

Hold the bottle upright and remove the cap. Open slowly if the bottle is very cold or has been shaken to avoid an overflow of bubbles.

  4. 4

    Pour

Tilt the glass at about a 45-degree angle and pour the sparkling water gently down the side to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Fill to about 3/4–1 inch (2 cm) from the rim.

  5. 5

    Garnish (optional)

If desired, squeeze the lemon or lime wedge over the surface to add a hint of citrus, then drop the wedge into the glass. Add a sprig of mint for an aromatic note.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while the water is fizzy. Keep remaining bottled sparkling water sealed and refrigerated to maintain carbonation.

Glassware & garnishes (optional)

  1. 7

Use a clean highball or water glass. If you chilled the glass earlier, handle briefly to avoid warming it with your hands.
