In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.

Knead Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan and cover it again. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.

In a bowl, mix together the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined.

Once the bread has cooled slightly, slice it into thick pieces.

Place the buttered slices on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 10-15 minutes until the edges are crispy.
