Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the bowl with the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Dough

Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan and cover it again. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a bowl, mix together the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Slice the Bread

Once the bread has cooled slightly, slice it into thick pieces.

  2. 10

    Spread Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on each slice of bread.

  3. 11

    Final Bake

Place the buttered slices on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 10-15 minutes until the edges are crispy.

  4. 12

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and serve warm.
