Cocktail Base

Method

Prepare Glass & Garnish

1

If you want a rim, lightly moisten the rim of a chilled shooter glass with the orange twist (wipe a little expressed oil) and dip the rim into fine sugar or smoked salt. Set the glass aside chilled.

2

Prepare the orange twist: cut a 1- to 1.5-inch piece of peel from an orange, removing excess pith, and set a Luxardo cherry nearby for serving.

Mixing the Shooter

3

Add the Henry RED CORN Bourbon (1 oz), sweet vermouth (1/2 oz), and simple syrup (1/4 tsp) into a mixing glass or small shaker.

4

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the mixing vessel.

5

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for about 20–25 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. If you prefer a slightly more aerated result, give a quick 6–8 second shake instead (this will create a colder, slightly frothier shooter).

6

Strain the chilled mixture into the prepared chilled shooter glass (approximately 1.5 to 2 oz capacity).

Finish & Serve

7

Express an orange oil over the top of the shooter by holding the twist over the glass skin-side down and giving it a quick squeeze so a spritz of oil hits the surface (optional: briefly flame with a match for a smoked/caramelized note).

8

Drop the orange twist into the shooter or rest it on the rim, and add the Luxardo cherry either on a pick or dropped into the glass.

9

Serve immediately as a concentrated Old Fashioned-style shooter. Sip or shoot as desired.
