Mashed Potatoes

Method

Prime Rib Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Prime Rib

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped rosemary. Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil and season it generously with the spice mixture.

  2. 2

    Roast the Prime Rib

Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for 15-20 minutes per pound for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C). Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Au Jus Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Au Jus

In a saucepan, combine beef broth and red wine. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth, then stir into the simmering broth until thickened. Add Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Vegetables Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the mixed seasonal vegetables and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
