Yams and Topping

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yams

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and chop yams into even-sized chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Glaze

In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup, coconut milk, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Once simmering, reduce heat and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combine Yams and Glaze

In a large mixing bowl, toss the cooked yams with the maple coconut glaze until well-coated.

  4. 4

    Add Toppings

Transfer the glazed yams to a baking dish. Top with marshmallows, chopped pecans, and coconut flakes.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the marshmallows are golden and the topping is crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Kingston Glazed Yams!
