Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced ham and sliced field mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms are tender and the ham is heated through, about 5 minutes. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Egg Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the Omelet

In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture. Allow it to cook undisturbed for a few minutes until the edges start to set.

  4. 4

    Add Filling

Once the edges are set, gently lift them with a spatula, allowing uncooked egg to flow underneath. When the top is still slightly runny, sprinkle the cooked ham and mushrooms evenly over one half of the omelet, then add the aged cheddar cheese on top.

  5. 5

    Fold and Finish

Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filling. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the omelet is cooked to your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately with a side of dressed lettuces.
