Prepare glass
Choose a highball or old-fashioned glass. Fill the glass with cubed ice until nearly full to chill and maintain dilution control.

Measure and add bitter and sweet
Pour 1 oz Campari and 1 oz sweet vermouth directly over the ice in the glass.

Top with soda
Gently top the mixture with about 2 oz (approx. a short pour) of chilled soda water. Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and avoid splashing.

Stir
Give the drink one or two gentle short stirs with a bar spoon to integrate the ingredients while retaining effervescence. Do not over-stir.

Garnish and serve
Express the oils of an orange twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick fold or squeeze, then drop it or place a thin orange wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.
