Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chunks
Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- 7
Form the Cookies
Using a large cookie scoop or your hands, form the dough into giant balls (about 1/4 cup each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 3 inches apart.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Cool
Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
